Most services ask you to register before they show you anything. This one does not. You can open the assistant, ask a question and read the answer without giving an email address, a name or a card.
So the honest answer to “do I need an account?” is: not to try it. Only when you want to keep what you have done.
What you get without an account
The basic chat is free and needs no registration. Ask, read, copy the answer, come back tomorrow — all of it works signed out.
The catch is where the conversation lives. Signed out, it belongs to the browser you opened it in, on that one device. Open the site on your phone and your laptop chats are not there. Clear your browsing data and the history goes with it.
For a one-off question that is fine. For work you will want to return to, it is not.
What an account adds
One thing, and it is the thing people miss most: your conversations follow you. The same history on your phone, your laptop and your work computer, and it survives clearing your browser.
An account is also what a paid plan attaches to, so if you ever decide to pay for images, you will need one by then anyway.
Three ways in
In the assistant, the Sign in button opens a small window with three options.
Continue with Google — one click, nothing to type, nothing to remember. Use it if you already live in a Google account.
Continue with Telegram — the same idea for people who would rather not hand over an email address.
Sign in with email — the classic: your email and a password.
They all lead to the same account, but they are separate front doors. If you register with Google and later try to sign in with the same address by email, that is a different door — use the button you signed up with.
Creating an account with email
Pick Sign in with email, then Sign up at the bottom of the window. You will be asked for three things: a name, an email address and a password. That is the whole form — no phone number, no company details, no card.
The name is what the assistant calls you. Use whatever you like.
If you forget your password
There is a Forgot password? link on the email sign-in screen. It sends a reset to the address you registered with, so use an inbox you can actually open.
If you signed up with Google or Telegram you have no password here at all — nothing to reset, just use the same button again.
Staying signed out on purpose
There is nothing wrong with never registering. If you only ever ask the occasional question and copy the answer straight into your post, an account buys you nothing.
Two things to know if you go that way. Do not count on finding an old conversation later — copy anything you want to keep as soon as you get it. And if you use a shared or public computer, a signed-out chat still sits in that browser’s history until someone clears it, so close the tab and clear the site data when you are done.

With or without an account, the quality of what you get back depends on how you ask. That is Asking Good Questions.
