Most of what you read on Marketly is written by me. I am a product manager by trade, which in practice means choosing tools, paying for them and then living with the choice.

The pitch for an AI marketing tool is easy to find; what it does on an ordinary Tuesday is not. So every guide here answers the same three questions: what the tool actually does once the demo ends, what the bill looks like for a team your size, and whether the switch is worth the disruption to the people who have to use it.

What I cover

Tools are grouped by the job you are hiring them for — content, SEO, email, social, advertising, analytics, automation and image and video.

Around them sit the decisions themselves: how to choose, what is genuinely free, what a small team can afford and where a marketer still beats the tool.

Shorter pieces go to News: a price change, a new model, a feature that quietly disappeared. A guide is a decision, a note is a heads-up.

How the guides are written

Prices are the vendor’s list prices on the date shown on the page. They move often, so check the vendor’s own site before you pay. No ranking is sold and no placement is paid for. When a tool stops being the right answer, the guide is rewritten rather than left standing.

Corrections

A wrong price, a missing tool, a guide that has aged badly — tell me. Out-of-date advice costs money, and I would rather hear about it from you than not at all.
